Gameday Open Thread: JMU vs. Villanova
It’s a heck of a day for a college football game. Hopefully we’ll see many of you in the ‘burg. The rest of you can tune in via Madizone and root from the couch. Enjoy the game wherever you are. Consider this your official open thread for all pre-game, in-game, and post-game chatter. Go Dukes! Beat Nova! Keep Rootin!
Is it just my computer or does this stream suck?
My stream has been fine and I’m in an apartment complex where the speeds vary significantly.
2nd time that I know of this season when the refs allow a play to happen and then say, oops sorry the previous play before the previous play is under review.
I’ve had to restart my stream twice but otherwise good stuff.
With five minutes left in the third quarter, the Death Star looks more like a tie fighter. Vad Lee, we barely knew ye, and curses upon the Ticks.
If only we could put this defense together with the Death Star offense in the same game. Great defensive effort today.
Solid job by the D to take advantage of TOs. This is a deeply flawed team but even great teams need some luck sometimes, and we got the breaks today for sure. Here’s hoping we get next week off.
This week the #4, #5, #7, #8 and #9 ranked teams lost. Top eight seed and first round bye should belong to JMU.
I do not recognize this team as “having a share of the CAA title”.
Richmond won the CAA title. No participation trophies.
Good win. D has really stepped up here lately with some big plays, would like some more consistency. Refs suck. Can’t wait to see the bracket. Play calls were a little sketchy there for a little on offense. Schor ’nuff continues to do well. GO DUKES!
Hope we get refs other than CAA refs for playoffs. Refs gave Villanova 2 touchdowns with iffy PI calls on 3rd down near the goal line twice. But then JMU does not get a PI call when our WR gets mugged on a deep ball.
CAA refs whether it involved JMU game or not is the absolute worst officiating I have ever seen over the course of a season bar none. This includes VHSL officiating.
@ShadyP – you beat me to the punch on the CAA officiating.
Getting away from CAA football officiating HAS TO BE at least on the list of compelling reasons to get the heck out of the CAA.
Question: If UNH beats Colgate, will CAA officials ref the game between JMU/UNH? I think in playoffs if two teams are from different conferences you don’t have either conferences officials, but how does that play out if both teams are from the same conference?
