It\u2019s been nearly 2 years since I won the prediction contest and you would have thought in that time I would have come up with lots of ideas for my next win. \u00a0Either I wasn\u2019t able to or the sheer number of concussive hits in college has made it impossible to remember anything for that long. So I decided to create a potpourri post that will include my official bracket this year (it isn\u2019t what you might think it is). \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Away we go:<\/span><\/p>\n

JMU is good this year, but should be even better next year.<\/span><\/p>\n

Imagine if Rashad Robinson was healthy this year?!?!<\/span><\/p>\n

8-3 is nothing to whine about\u2026that was until 4 (really 3) CAA teams lost in the first round.<\/span><\/p>\n

That being said I still think Rhode Island could have been in and competed somewhere with that offense.<\/span><\/p>\n

JMU should have gotten a seed this year\u2026I guess we will just have to take it from Colgate.<\/span><\/p>\n

I\u2019m a crazy fan and football alum but even after we are done with Colgate I\u2019m not sure how we will do in Fargo. That doesn\u2019t mean I won\u2019t be there screaming my brains out.<\/span><\/p>\n

Speaking of being a crazy fan..I had 2 JMU fans tell me to sit down at a home game because they couldn\u2019t see. I very politely explained I paid for my tickets and can do what I want. And that they should stand up and cheer too. Keep in mind I try not to stand except on 3<\/span>rd<\/span> and 4<\/span>th<\/span> down. Am I wrong? Or was I right and too polite?<\/span><\/p>\n

I wonder if we could have beaten UVA and\/or VT this year. I like to think so.<\/span><\/p>\n

Mike Houston probably isn\u2019t the best candidate for Lousville or UNC but that doesn\u2019t mean I\u2019m any less worried about it. Sorry, Alex Wood and Everett Withers scarred me.<\/span><\/p>\n

Did everyone see the Mickey Matthews quote where he called into the Daily News Record? “I feel better now. For years I thought the NCAA didn’t like me. Now I know they just don’t like JMU.” \u00a0Say what you will but I love that guy.<\/span><\/p>\n

JMU\u2019s campus really is one of the nicest around. I\u2019m probably such a fan because there aren\u2019t major roads dissecting it like VT and UVA. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Have you ever been to a game at Villanova? I\u2019ve made the 5+ hour drive a few times and it isn\u2019t worth it. I love my Dukes but how in the world can a town with a University not have a Bdubs (as of the last time I went 3 years ago).<\/span><\/p>\n

Top five places to get wings before a game (home or away): 1. <\/span>Buffalo Wild Wings<\/span>, 2. <\/span>Hooters (not just for the wings)<\/span>, 3. <\/span>Quaker Steak and Lube<\/span>, 4. <\/span>WingStop, <\/span>5. Tight Ends Sports Bar & Grill Plano, TX, (google it, NSFW more than likely)<\/span><\/p>\n

As good as JMU football has become a large part of that is due to their recruiting outside of the area. I coach football in the Shenandoah Valley and unfortunately we aren\u2019t very good around here (outside of little \u2018ol Riverheads and East Rockingham). \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Speaking of East Rockingham High School\u2026did you know that Kyle Gillenwater, a former D. Coordinator for Mickey, is now the D. Coordinator for that high school? \u00a0Just loved the area and wanted to move back. Although I was an OL he remembered me by name nearly 20 years later. Amazing.<\/span><\/p>\n

Speaking of high school football I coached two girls this year. Both are 9<\/span>th<\/span> graders and yes, one of them is a kicker. But the other one played FB, WB in our triple option scheme. She played LB most of the year but was forced into playing CB(?!) during the last game of the year due to injuries. Here\u2019s a link<\/a> in case anyone wants to know more about these tough little nuggets.<\/span><\/p>\n

I love Wyatt\u2019s World at home games\u2026.but I would really prefer them at halftime and not right before a kickoff, defense stand etc.<\/span><\/p>\n

And would it hurt to stop playing so much damn piped in music? You know who knows when the right time to play music is? THE MRD\u2019s!!! \u00a0Those guys and gals are crazy and I love them. Best fans in the stadium so let them do their thing already. Rant over.<\/span><\/p>\n

“Family Tradition” by Hank Williams, Jr. \u2013 just because I like the damn song and this is my list<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cSeek and Destroy\u201d by Metallica \u2013 Can you imagine this riff right before Kickoff?! \u00a0I know there\u2019s a MRD that can play this by now and would destroy it.<\/span><\/p>\n

Star Wars- The Imperial March – When the defense returns to the field<\/span><\/p>\n
