{"id":4463,"date":"2012-10-08T09:02:07","date_gmt":"2012-10-08T13:02:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/jmusportsblog.com\/?p=4463"},"modified":"2012-10-08T20:49:16","modified_gmt":"2012-10-09T00:49:16","slug":"dukes-sneak-by-towson","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jmusportsblog.com\/?p=4463","title":{"rendered":"Dukes Sneak by Towson"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Yes, most of these thoughts on Saturday&#8217;s big victory over the defending CAA champion Towson Tigers are lifted from our commenters, but they nailed it. \u00a0Just because the game was ugly and looked eerily like many painfully frustrating games from the last two seasons for huge stretches, do not sleep on how important this win was. \u00a0Towson returned nearly all of their dominant squad from last year and results around the CAA have begun to show three teams potentially separating themselves. \u00a0With Richmond surprising Villanova and Maine destroying UD, those tough teams have all shown a bit of inconsistency that has, for the moment, allowed for the possibility that JMU, ODU, and Towson may be a notch above the rest.<\/p>\n<p>These thoughts on Saturday&#8217;s big victory over the defending CAA champion Towson Tigers are simply lifted from our commenters, but they nailed it!<\/p>\n<p><strong>From 2004 Duke:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>-Let this be a big fat &#8220;I told you so&#8221; from the &#8220;pass more&#8221; crowd. \u00a0Myself being a charter member. \u00a0(JMUSB: Rob&#8217;s also in this crowd and felt the same way)<\/p>\n<p>-We have 3 solid RB&#8217;s on our roster. \u00a0I do not understand why we only played the one who isn&#8217;t 100% healthy. \u00a0(JMUSB: Rob was yelling about this by the 3rd quarter. Did Jordan Anderson kill MM&#8221;s chihuahua? \u00a0What about our &#8220;prepared starter&#8221; Brodie?)<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; If we play D like that the rest of the year, we are going deep in the playoffs. Scott is a special back, but I don&#8217;t know why we didn&#8217;t give some touches to the other guys in the backfield if for no other reason that to try to spark the offense. Hell of a win though and an absolutely outstanding defensive effort and game-winning drive by Thorpe and the offense. (JMUSB: I was killing JT for one of the worst passing days of his career, but he showed up big-time when the Dukes needed it most)<\/p>\n<p>Also three cheers to NBC Sports for a great broadcast. \u00a0(JMUSB: No way to overstate how thrilled we were with this production. \u00a0It&#8217;s a thrill to see the CAA and JMU getting the first class treatment it deserves. \u00a0Great comments about &#8220;CAA as SEC of FCS and a noticeable lack of disrespectful gaffes only added to the phyical production quality!
