Fan Confidence Poll: Week 6

[polldaddy poll=8341482]Another week and another CAA loss for the Dukes. Last week barely over 50% of voters thought postseason play was in the cards for JMU. After letting one get away against Delaware, is the sky falling or are the Dukes just a few plays away from getting things right? Vote in the poll and give us your thoughts on the state of the program and JMU’s playoff chances.

I have not seen enough (anything really) to make me think that we can go 6-1 the rest of the way to get to the 8 wins I think will be needed. I hope I am wrong – Go Dukes!

@Deacon Danny I think most agree with you, but are hoping to be proven wrong.

Also, check your email. We just sent you something because you won last week’s prediction contest.

No way, out defense is too porous to get a 6-1 record down the stretch, i wouldn’t be surprised with a L at Albany this weekend, learn to tackle fundamentally defense and we’ll talk playoffs

6-1 is way too much to ask for this team (particularly the defensive and special teams units), so after hanging on to a thread of hope in all previous polls, I am now in the “No” camp. But I will still be rooting for the Dukes to prove me wrong and go 7-0 to finish!!

I do believe they will continue to get better though. And since we know the conference realignment tornado has blown through and left the JMU Athletic Dept. standing in a field confused, alone and stripped to its underwear, I expect the 2015 team to absolutely make the playoffs. (that’s right, I just skipped the rest of this season altogether.)

    1. The offense has played better, although Lee still makes too many mistakes. D. Brown had an easy catch that went through his hands late in the game.
    2. the Defense cant stop anyone.
    3. Special teams had more off-sides called on them than students in the stands after the 3rd quarter.
    4. The Students left before the best part of the game, yet again. A slap in the face to our school. What’s the point of 25k when you cant even fill it up? At least on TV it looked like a Skins game during the second half of the giants game.
    5. I hate ODU. We are stuck in FCS, which is not what the majority of us want…but looks like it will be what we will have to deal with for quite a long time. Are ODU and JMU programs going in opposite directions?
    6. thanks for allowing me to get all of that out.

I’ve voted yes every week, but if they keep dropping back into shotgun and pistol formations on 4 and 1 situations, it shows that this “New Era” is just new faces with old playbooks. It’s sad, but I’m expecting to see some improvement over the next few weeks. Improvements, but not playoffs.

The silver lining in the new era of JMU bend-and-then-break defense is that my Saturdays are once again free to do productive things.

We’d have to pretty much win out to get in the playoffs. We also have W&M and Richmond left on our schedule, who both look better than Delaware. I want to believe, but they have to work on these errors that they make every week.

Still holding out. I think we can do it, it’s an uphill battle, but the CAA standings pretty much reflect what I thought they’d be.
