JMUSportsBlog Bus Trip to FedEx for WVU!

Rob and I have been alternating vacations the last few weeks so we’re a little later than we meant to be with this, but we are pleased to announce the first official JMUSB Tailgate Extravaganza and officially extend an invitation to our readers.  Here are the details.

We’ve reserved one of the big ole 55-person “motorcoaches” for this one.  We hope you’ll agree that the prospect of not having to worry about driving to this rare and exciting game is more than worth the extra freight, not to mention this is just going to be a ridiculously good time!

RSVP: If you would like to join us, please drop us an email at jmusportsblog@gmail.com or better yet, FB message us.  Include the your name, the number of seats you’d like to purchase and the email address where you’d like a PayPal invoice sent (likely set this Thursday evening).

JMU v. WVU at FedEx Field Saturday, September 15th, 2012

Bus Departure Time: 11:30 a.m. Dogwood Tavern, Falls Church, VA 132 West Broad St., Falls Church, VA 22046
Gametime: 4:30 p.m.
Bus Return Time: approximately 9:15 p.m. (assuming the Dukes don’t need overtime to finish off the #9 team in the nation)
Bus Cost: $40 per person
Tickets: Everyone is responsible for their own game tickets.  There are plenty available and we do not anticipate the game selling out.  There is currently a Living Social deal for half-off tix if you don’t care where you sit.  Otherwise, we encourage you to order through JMU.
For those of you familiar with FedEx or who have been to a college bowl game, the “JMU side” of the stadium will be what is normally the Visitor’s Side.
More Info: Dogwood opens for brunch on Saturday at 10:30 a.m.  As some of you may know, their sister establishment Ragtime is a huge WVU bar.  We aim to make them look like a bunch of amateurs.
There is a CVS and a convenience store (7 Stars!) right next door in the event you forget sunscreen, umbrellas, beer, ice, advil, Diet Coke, coolers, ATM, beer pong balls, etc.
Food and Bev:  At this time, this is strictly a BYO event.  The bus has room for plenty of coolers underneath and we may encourage a “mini cooler” setup for the onboard trip up there but we’ll fill that in once we have the full list for the bus.
Extras:
-Parking lots open at 12:30 p.m.
-Lawn chairs and tailgate tents welcome and should have plenty of room under the bus for them.
-NFL stadium means IN-GAME alcohol sales!
Lastly, we are incredibly excited for this event and hope you to see lots of old friends AND to meet a few new JMUSB readers on this festive occasion, Go Dukes!
TD and Rob
