Prediction Time: JMU vs. Towson

It’s prediction time again. Here’s a refresher for those that need one. Leave a comment with your prediction (winner and score) for Saturday’s game. The reader who comes closest to getting it 100% correct will win the right to guest post on whatever he or she (sooner or later a lady will win, right?) desires. Pretty simple.

And here’s the lowdown for Saturday. The 3-1 JMU Dukes welcome the defending CAA Champion Towson Tigers to town. Towson sits at 2-2 on the season and is coming off a hard fought loss in Baton Rouge against LSU. The Dukes are coming off a bye and should be relatively well rested. On paper, it looks like it’s going to be a good one. Who’s going to win and what will the final score be?

I think the Dukes will have a little trouble having had a week off so their offense won’t be as prolific as the other FCS games so far this season.

    JMU – 24 Towson – 13

Fun Fact of the Day: Mickey Matthews is 7-0 against Towson with an average margin of victory of 24 points.

Scott is (still) expected to be out, but JMU gets a boost from a raucous home crowd full of drunk parents that are HOPEFULLY not sitting down, politely eating tea and crumpets in the student section.

    JMU 38, Towson 14.

    Good guys 33 Towson 16.

Need JMU SB to give a definitive answer on Scott and his health for this wkd. Couldnt find anything at jmusports but either way Dukes take this one without too much trouble.

@SunChase, I love the positivity, but remember 1. that 7-0 record is against your grandfather’s Towson. 2. JMU didn’t play Towson last year

My prediction was not including Scott so if I had a mulligan I might make it even closer score (i.e. 23-20).

    Towson – 17

31-24 Good Guys with 2 bonus Mickey visor throws.

Dukes come out flat, reserved Family Weekend Crowd finally gets into it towards the end of the game when the Dukes finally start playing good football in the 2nd Half.

    Towson 20

    34-24 J. Maddy

With Scott likely out and Jordan Anderson battling turf toe look for Hykeem Brodie to have a big day in front of the already sold out crowd (albeit mostly parents that won’t care much about the actual game) on NATIONAL TELEVISION (NBC Sports Network)..

    GO DUKES!!!

I see that score has been taken, 30-24 JMU. How crazy would it be if that makes all the difference haha

  15. Jonathan / Oct 4 2012

    37-28

  16. Jonathan / Oct 4 2012

oops – JMU with the win

  17. tedward / Oct 4 2012

    JMU – 27
    Towson – 24

  18. SunChase / Oct 4 2012

cant argue with the history-matters-for-nothing angle. But I’ve seen the tape from Towson and I just don’t think they have the athletes JMU has… particularly on defense. I think Robertson is gonna have a field day this weekend.

  19. Matt / Oct 4 2012

    Dukes in a rout. 42-17

  20. Zac / Oct 4 2012

    Dukes 27

  25. JMUDRU / Oct 5 2012

    34-17 Dukes

Close in the first half…but the pink clad crowd and relative lack of noise lull the tigers into a little tiger snooze.

Duuukes, Duuuuukes, ooohhhhhh Duuukes Dukey Dukey Duke Duuukes.

But if Thorpe gets murdered by Crystal-meth tweakers, well then we’re shit out of luck

  26. Lew / Oct 5 2012

    JMU 35, Towson 31

  27. SF Dukes / Oct 5 2012

    38-31 Towson

  28. Rob / Oct 5 2012

And for folks wondering, the latest reports have Dae’Quan Scott listed as probable. I’m pretty confident with all of JMU’s running backs, but I think Scott just being on the field might keep Towson on edge a bit.

  29. BoDuke01 / Oct 5 2012

    JMU in a rout 31-10

  30. Jeff / Oct 6 2012

    24-21 JMU!
