Fan Confidence Poll: Richmond Week

[polldaddy poll=8441859]Vad Lee and the Dukes have now won five straight games. That’s JMU’s longest winning streak since all the way back in 2008 when a guy by the name of Rodney Landers was lining up behind center. JMU has a huge game against the hated Ticks this Saturday with a lot on the line. A big win would do a lot to boost the playoff resume. Richmond is also looking solid its playoff chances and get back on track after a disappointing loss at Maine. Following the game at Richmond, the Dukes will return home to face CAA newcomer Elon. It remains a very real possibility that the game could be Elon’s final shot to get a conference win. The Phoenix will definitely come to play and try to end the season on a high note. JMU obviously has a lot to play for. And so do its opponents. Do the Dukes have what it takes to get the job done? Vote in the poll above and let us know your thoughts in the comments.

8 wins wont get it done, not with how the public perceives our program. If we don’t win our last two, we aren’t in the playoffs.

Agree with Newbill. We have to go 9-3 to get in. The polls tell me the selection committee is bias against us.

Unfortunately, I agree with this guy who’s sitting there on capitol hill on his long journey to the capital city to sit in committee to become a law someday but today he is still just a bill.

I sadly agree. Watching the predictions for the playoff bracket, they had JMU in the first four out before Stony Brook, because of the narrow margin of victory over a sub 500 team, we were taken out of even that category. Need to win both games, can be done, but will be tough.

Everyone stop reading anything (brackets, polls, etc.) that comes out of that no-talent, JMU-hating site The Sports Network. They’re the only one of the five or six bracket projections we follow (No Bowls, Lehigh, Chris Lang) that don’t have the Dukes in right now and none of them have any bearing on the committee’s ultimate decision.

But let’s beat the Ticks anyways!

Todd, I hear where you are coming from, but these are several people without a bias towards JMU and the CAA, like we naturally tend to have. If you take a step back, who have we really beaten this year? William and Mary was our biggest win, and even according to you guys they probably aren’t a playoff team. I am not trying to be negative here, just realistic. We need a statement win and I believe we get that this week. I will make the 3 hours drive to root for our Dukes, just as I make the two hour drive every home game. Realistically we need to win out, we need a statement win (Richmond) and can’t afford a bad loss (Elon)
