Exclusive JMU vs. William & Mary Highlights

The Dukes dropped a 84-65 decision to the William & Mary Tribe yesterday. The loss leaves JMU at 13-10 overall and 6-4 in the CAA. William & Mary moved into sole possession of first place with a conference record of 8-2 and 14-7 overall. The Tribe used a 25-0 run to surge to a 37-8 lead, and that pretty much says it all, no? You can see the full game highlights above. If we’re looking for positives, Jackson Kent and Winston Grays shot great from long range. Other than that, we’ve got nothing. Just need to put it behind us and get ready for a huge game against UNCW.

As much as I hate to admit it, W&M is just a much better team. Not only are they better they were shooting out of their minds (bad combo for the good guys). Even the the rare times that the Dukes were playing good defense, their shots were going in…especially during the 25-0 run. 25-0 run, wow, that hurts just to say.
Hopefully they can make it more respectable against UNCW.
    Go Dukes…

Absolutely agree. W&M just has more talent on the roster than JMU. I still expected the Dukes to keep it closer than they did though. The Dukes actually shot pretty well, but couldn’t contain all of the Tribe’s weapons. Hopefully they learn from this and buckle down defensively from here on out, because the shooting seems to be coming around.

Once again – as in with Northeastern, the coaching staff of the other team made adjustments between games. Brady stuck with the same 3-2 which W&M torched in game 1 (I was there) and got torched again in a significant way in game 2 before he was so far behind he had to switch to a man to man.

This shouldn’t be an either/or situation. If you’re a college player getting a degree, you should be intelligent enough to pick up and use other kinds of defense. Brady’s choosing between 2 kinds of defense is too vanilla and ridiculous. Plenty of other defenses. Try a box and one, triangle and two, the Amoeba, etc. for God’s sake.
