Gameday Open Thread: JMU vs. SMU

Alright folks, the Dukes are in Dallas and we’re just a few hours from kick-off. Vad Lee and his teammates will try to keep the offense rolling, this time against SMU from the FBS. It’s a tough test, but Everett Withers should have the boys ready to play. It’s Saturday night, a perfect time for an upset. Consider this your open thread for all your pre-game, in-game, and post-game chatter. Have fun tonight everyone. Keep Rootin’!

    Look pretty solid so far.

Espn3 is running smooth. I was worried because a lot of people were bashing it. Although Curt Dudley is way better than these tools. Great attitude by this team so far. Huge turnover right there to keep the momentum.

At this point, ODU was down 35-0 today.
I’m happy with a lead at halftime, no matter how this turns out.
    Go Dukes!

Are people just engaged or are people not commenting? No matter the outcome, this is a really good game. Looks like SMU has a bigger attendance problem than JMU.

I want to go get some food but this game is too exciting to leave the computer for even a single down.

In 3.9 games we have surpassed the total offense from MM’s last season.

    Love this shootout!

Really excited to see JMU making an actual effort to beat an FBS team.

ESPN3 is a harsh reminder of how much Madizone sux and why I would rather be playing in conference USA on espn3 each week.

Why were we passing with the lead and the clock inside the 20? Did pete Carroll dial that play in?

We should have won by at least 13. Still a great game. Go Dukes!!

    DUKES!!!!!

We should have won by 30. Great offense but some sketchy playcalling that cost us – hopefully we use it as a learning lesson and don’t make the same mistakes against Villanova. Go Dukes!

Glad my score prediction was so far off! Went to the Nats game today and it was about 1/10th as exciting as this game. Now off to sleep to dream about a world where we play FBS school every week!

DUDE GO DUKES. I’m a student and I’ve never been this excited about JMU football!

Very excited about this team. Yeah, we had some costly mistakes, but this is a special team. We are concerned about HOW MUCH we beat an FBS team by. That is exciting. This team will also get better and begin to clean up some of these mistakes.
I actually don’t mind the fact that we fell behind. I think it shows a lot about this team that they fell behind with 2 minutes to go, on the road, against an FBS team, and didn’t panic. Hopefully it will prove to this team that they are never out of it.
When SMU scored with 2 minutes left, I think many of us felt like it was doable. Almost EXPECTED them to come back and score.
When was the last time you felt that way about a JMU football team.
    Vad was truly amazing.
    Go Dukes!

I’ve never been so glad to be wrong!

What a great win … now to rule the CAA …

    GO DUUUUUUUUKS!

“One week after giving up 720 yards to TCU, they gave up 729 to James f’n Madison. Unacceptable.” -The Stable

Yeah that’s right…we are James f’ing Madison. Let’s bring them up to Bridgeforth sometime soon and show them how it’s done again.
