Prediction Contest: JMU vs. William & Mary
The loss to Richmond is in the past and it’s time to move forward. Bryan Schor and the Dukes travel to Williamsburg to play the William & Mary Tribe this Saturday. Nobody won last week’s prediction contest (everyone picked the good guys), but we’re running it back again this week. I like what I have seen from Schor thus far in the spring game and his limited reps. I think that he will keep the team on track and I would bet money Vad is by his side and going over schemes and defenses to help him along the way. Defense has to have been chewed out all week and needs to make a statement this week. They should have a chip on their shoulder and play better.

Last week UR punished the Dukes with a power running game (while missing their #1 back), a big, rangy, talented receiver and a competent, though not scintillating QB.
This week W&M boasts a power running game, a big, rangy, talented receiver and a very good QB.
(I haven’t seen enough of Robinson to know what impact his absence had on the defense. If I were a cynic, I would go ‘hmmm’ at the timing of his reinstatement, but I’m no — oh, yes I am a cynic. So, ‘hmmm’)
I’m not sure the coaches can fix the total systems failure of the defense in 5 days and transition to a new QB.

It pains me to say 42-28 WM. The hangover from last week’s game and the big injuries will keep them down. Withers may prove to be a great coach if he can get these kids to keep their chin up. The good news through all of this is that we are really only 1 win away from securing a playoff spot and with 3 games left, the QB situation can work the kinks out.
