OGL Weekly Links: Media Blackout!

I guess this we shouldn’t expect Coach Matthews to comment on the blog anytime soon. He closed practice to the media because he didn’t want anything leaked via social media. In his words, he’s against “Tweeter or twister or whatever you call it.” Um, speechless.

Matthews and the Dukes face UMass at home this week. Minutemen Coach Kevin Morris talks about the match up in UMass Football Weekly.

Prior to the ‘Nova game, the RTD talks about how expectations for the Dukes were ratcheted up after the Tech win and considers if a 7-4 CAA team could make the playoffs.

We’ve talked about how much we love Brian Mull’s coverage of CAA hoops. His objective and logical defense of Devon Moore and the JMU back-court is an example of why.

Rush The Court breaks down the CAA hoops race and predicts the Dukes will finish 5th.

The JMU women are heating up on the soccer field. They’ve won 5 straight and cruised over ODU with a 5-1 win.

The field hockey team has come back to earth after a bit of hot streak. The women lost to William & Mary last Saturday and now are .500 in the CAA. I’m sure Coach L will get ’em back on track soon.

Finally, if you’re headed back to the ‘Burg this weekend for the game, it’s OK to leave the purple at home just this once. It’s the Dukes Tackle Cancer – Pink Out Game. I’ve heard some folks grumbling about this because pink isn’t intimidating or some nonsense. Each to their own, but I think it’s a great idea and am proud that JMU is doing it.
