Prediction Contest: JMU vs. William & Mary
The bye week is over and it’s time for the Dukes to get back at it. On Saturday, JMU will travel to Williamsburg to take on its old rival, the William & Mary Tribe (or Pantsless Griffins if you’d prefer). Of course that means its also time for our contest to see who can predict the winner. Here’s a quick refresher on how the contest works. Leave a comment indicating who you think will win the game and what the final score will be. The person who comes closest to predicting the outcome correctly (winner and score) will get to write a guest post next week on anything his or her heart desires. Well, that’s not exactly true. You can’t write anything offensive (porn, praise for Richmond, etc) but you get the idea.
So where were we? Ah yes, the game. It’s William & Mary’s homecoming on Saturday, which means the stands should be filled with alums anxious to see their Pantsless Griffins avenge last year’s double-overtime loss to the Dukes in Harrisonburg. We will have our full preview tomorrow, but if you haven’t been paying attention here’s a little info to help you make your picks.
William & Mary is in a situation that might be eerily familiar to Dukes fans. The Tribes defense ranks number one in the CAA, but the offense hasn’t exactly been keeping pace. And according to most fans, the offensive shortcomings are largely attributable to inconsistent QB play. In fact, one of the hot topics this week for William and Mary fans seems to focus on debating which QB should get the start. We’ve been there Tribe fans. It gets better. At least it did for us, because JMU has the Ginga Ninja.
In any case, expect this to be another tough game for the Dukes. Whether you’re going to the game in the other ‘burg, spending the day checking out William Hill horse racing, or tuning in via the Tribe’s stream, we know you’ll be rootin fer Dukes.
