Gameday Open Thread: JMU vs. Albany

gameday flagThe Dukes will play their first game at Bob Ford Field against the Albany Great Danes tonight. JMU is looking for its first CAA road win in nearly two years. The  Dukes last defeated a conference opponent on the road all the way back on November  3, 2012 when they knocked off Maine 31-7. They need this one. They need it very badly if they want to keep their playoff hopes alive. Tune into the stream here for $4.95. And consider this your open thread for all of your pre-game, in-game, and post-game chatter. Go Dukes.

Villanova & New Hampshire are winning BIG today! I wonder if we have it in us to … 🙂

So what has to happen in today’s game for you guys to feel like it was worth your $4.95?

  3. Rob / Oct 4 2014

A win would be worth a 5 spot. We’d judge it to be great ROI if JMU won by 2+ TDs.

Even on a teacher salary, 4.95 is cheap. However, if I would have known they don’t show the down and distance plus not have their volume correct, I wouldn’t have wasted the money. Can anyone else hear the game? And I can’t open it into a new window thus Chromecast it to my TV. Atleast we got that 99 yard drive!

@Drake I had some issues starting out, but eventually got it to work. Then I had to shut it down for a second and couldn’t get the live feed to come back. Finally started over from scratch and it’s working fine. Would’ve really loved it if they kept ’em out of the end zone and took the 14 point lead into halftime. 21-14 lead is not bad though.

Why did Marlowe get ejected from the game in the first half?

Scanning the radio in my car, games being broadcast:

    -UVA
    -VT
    -ODU
    -Richmond
    -Liberty
    -Norfolk State

    Games NOT broadcast:
    -James Madison

Seriously….what the hell is up with that?

Possibly that helmet to helmet hit, but I’m not sure if he was in on that one. I was also cooking dinner and not hearing a thing still thanks to the Albany broadcast.

Why didn’t they call timeout before that last Albany TD? Do you really trust your defense to stop them? Could have had around 2 minutes left.

If you can’t beat em, Cheatem! I have no idea if I spelled his name correctly.

I cannot believe that our FG holder is our MVP.

  12. 2004 Duke / Oct 4 2014

IDK about you guys, but I’m stoked that we just upset an NEC team with a last-second FG.

Perfect win, score very late and leave nothing in the hands of our defense.

I’m happy to get a win. Some offensive minded coaches serve as their own offensive coordinator calling plays. Withers may need to be significantly more involved with the horrible defense.

Still in shock about the way those last 2 plays went down. As bad as things have been this year, I felt confident JMU was going to win after Albany’s touchdown (and check our Tweets if you don’t believe me). Thrilled about the win, but possibly even more upset about the loss to UD tonight than I was last weekend. JMU would be sitting pretty if not for that disappointment.

Great win and how about the new field goal kicker? What a great start to his JMU kicking career. Four made extra points and the game winner!

Towson is way down this year. They lost 14-3 at home to Stony Brook yesterday. Even with our bad defense, we have a very good chance for victory next week. One thing for sure, JMU is not going to take anyone lightly this year.

This is becoming the “Nail-Biter” season! 🙁

Thrilled with the win. JMU just beat a ranked team! That is an accomplishment.

As nice as it is to knock off the powerhouse that is Albany, hope it didn’t slip by any one that UD lost at home to Sacred Heart….did we really lose to a team, at home, that lost to Sacred Heart? Did we really?
