Gameday Open Thread: JMU vs. Stony Brook

We did not have this circled as a big game when the schedule came out, but JMU at Stony Brook is huge. The Dukes are looking to avenge a disappointing loss to the Seawolves at Bridgeforth last year. They’re also looking to keep their playoff hopes alive. Kickoff is at 1:00 and the game can be streamed for free from Stony Brook’s website here. Consider this your open thread for all pre-game, in-game, and post-game chatter. Go Dukes!

Wow this feed is terrible…stop showing the live play from the endzone camera and then replays from the sideline!!!!!!!

agree with DRU. how about zooming out a little guys. glad i didn’t have to pay for it.

Who’s doing the radio p-b-p today? If he’s the guy who’s ultimately replacing Schikman…ugh.

Not a great start for the Dukes, but there’s still time. D needs to stop giving up big plays and offense needs to stop the dumb penalties. Plenty of time to turn things around though.

And yes, this feed is brutally bad. All zoomed in, all the time…can’t tell what’s going on.

Heck of a throw from Lee after the long TD was taken away due to a penalty. The Dukes are right back in it!

The TD throw reminded me a lot of a Rodney Landers play circa 2008.

Is there a helium leak at SBU or is that just my feed?

  8. Rob / Nov 8 2014

D looks like its sleepwalking, but Lee is putting on a show and keeping JMU in the ballgame.

Nice job at least getting 3 points at the end of the half. TD would’ve been great, but it’s better than nothing.

Lee & the receivers look great. Defense and running backs need to step up though. Still think JMU can win.

Would like to see some statistical comparisons between this D and Mickey’s defense in 2001-2002-2003. They both look bad, just wondering which is worse.

Maybe Withers could hire Mickey Matthews as defensive coordinator?

    Way to go defense!!!
    Go Dukes!

Did Marlowe ever come back into the game?

2nd week in a row with a big comeback. Defense played nice in the 2nd half. The adjustments keep working. Would like to see a good first half in a game that matters. Playoff hopes are kept alive! Big loss by Richmond today.

Nice defensive play to win the game – who would have thought??

Someone has mentioned this before, but I really like how this coaching staff makes adjustments at halftime.

Awesome.Nice 2h adjustments. Enjoyed their booth crew, not camera work.

I also like how the announcer called him Vad the Impaler. Nice work.

Shutout in the 2nd half. Beautiful adjustments (with a little luck). Bring on the Ticks!

The video product was horrible and the game was too close for comfort. Even without the benefit of the new uniforms & helmets, this was a good win for our ‘Kids’. I, however, keep hoping for a Towson-type blow-out …

We have some quality talent on both sides of the ball. Can’t wait for next week’s battle with the Spiders!

Yeah, the end zone shots during live play made watching the game challenging. Also the relatively narrow angle making the view swing wildly during the plays were tough, but thanks to Stoney Brook for providing a way to watch.
